My practice specializes in treating individuals and through years of experience, I’m confident that no problem is too great to overcome. Through therapy, there is always a way to address the issues you face and learn coping strategies to help you. I offer telehealth sessions if needed.
Drug and Alcohol Evaluations
The evaluation will include a recommendation for treatment and a substance abuse diagnosis if applicable.

You may be recommended to obtain a substance use evaluation by your attorney, a judge, probation officer, another therapist or a child protective service worker. You may also obtain an evaluation for personal reasons.
The evaluation process typically lasts 90 minutes. You may be asked to complete some paperwork prior to your appointment. Your evaluation will not be sent to anyone that is not approved by you. The cost will be between $275 and $350.
Addictions Therapy
The focus of addictions counseling is to help you identify coping skills and a plan to avoid substance use.

You might be recommended for outpatient substance abuse therapy in an evaluation. You may be interested in therapy if you are struggling to stop the use of substances or are finding it difficult to remain sober.
Typically, level one outpatient substance use therapy consists of one to three hours of therapy per week or every other week for a period of six to twelve weeks or sessions. ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) indicates that Level One is nine hours or less per week of recovery or motivational enhancement therapies/strategies. Sessions usually last 50-60 minutes. Insurance is accepted for this service

You may be interested in therapy if you are struggling with symptoms related to a variety of mental health diagnoses.

You may also be interested in therapy for issues related to stress brought on by life events. People often find life can feel uncomfortable when they experience; divorce, death of friends or family, job issues, financial trouble, low self-esteem and many other things. Your sessions will be free from judgement and you can expect to feel safe and comfortable when revealing your personal issues. Privacy is a priority. What is discussed in sessions will be kept confidential.

The first session will include a discussion of why you sought therapy, your desired goals and a plan for meeting your goals.

The focus in sessions will be to help you uncover skills, values, and personality traits to facilitate a happier and healthier life. Customized treatment is a very important piece of the therapeutic process.

Kira Talbott graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She worked as a Behavioral Health Technician at Boystown for several years until she returned to school. Kira graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 2009 with a Masters degree in Community Counseling. Kira has worked in the field of mental health and substance use since 2009.
